Why Humaneuvers HR Exists for HR

When it Comes to Your Company’s Values, Does Your Company Walk the Talk?

Core company values are important. They distinguish a company from others and serve as a guide to attract likeminded employees, customers, and other stakeholders. As an HR professional with a CPHR designation, your Company’s commitment to walking the talk is a major driver in your ability to work and think strategically. Think about it. When leader behaviours aren’t fully aligned with core company values, our roles naturally become more transactional in nature because we tend to spend more time doing what I refer to as “clean up on aisle 9”. Experience in this type of work is foundational and always in demand. When supported by HR leaders who support you in supporting leaders to do the right thing, this has been explained to me throughout my career as ‘my role’ as HR professional. When a leader chooses not to do the right thing, that is on them, not the HR professional. I have been fortunate in having worked in this environment more than once. I have also worked for a company where leadership walked the talk held their employees to the same core values. Here I was able to provide strategic HR. And I have also worked for Companies (too many), where HR leaders lack the courage to do what’s right, causing me to make a choice, stand up for the ethical behaviour the company said it wanted and risk being laid off or constructively dismissed, continue working and become an enabler, or resign.

When misaligned , HR professional you risk placing your well being and professional reputation at risk. Courage to do what’s right for the company, employees, customers, other stakeholders, and most importantly You, has never been more important. It requires ethical courage and conviction.

Let your core values and professional ethics lead the way.

Let CPHR Alberta be your guide.

At Humaneuvers HR, we put people first, and that includes you.
